Arrival, driving and our first day part 1

Day one began with us arriving at around 630 in the morning into the country, the flight was long but. uneventful. We both tried to sleep but that never works great even with the large seats we had thanks to our business class upgrade. After getting our bags and waiting forever for our turn at the rental car  desk we were told we were in the wrong spot, apparently our rental was subcontracted to another company, so off went looking for the office of that company across the airport parking lot. It was a brisk walk but it felt really nice to be outside in the rain and wind, much like being at the Oregon Coast on winter day. Finally finding the correct place and getting our rental straightened out we were presented with an all wheel drive Kia Sportage Diesel, not exactly what we were hoping for but they assured us we'd been fine and car would be good choice for the rigors of Iceland

Our first stop after getting some groceries was to head south east down the coast towards the waterfall Seljalandsfoss its a good size fall at approx 200 ft and you can walk behind it for some cool pictures if the weather cooperates...it didn't.  There was so much rain and mist we ended up coming back on the morning of our second day to reshoot some photos..
