Arrival, driving and our first day part 3

After Skogafoss we continued to the south to the town of Vik, about another 40 min drive through even more waterfalls and some crazy looking mountains

Vik is right on the sea known for it black sand beach. It was a bit to windy to get good pics but there are other beaches we will be visiting that are black sand as well. The other thing Vik is known for is a a rock formation known as the Reynisdrangar stacks. The stacks are reputed to the remains of 2 trolls who tried to drag a ship to shore one night, and as dawn broke they were turned to stone forming the stacks.

After Grabbing a meal at a local restaurant we headed back north to our accommodations. The room was even better that we expected and the owners were awesome people that wanted to ensure we were happy. They use their waterfall to generate all the electricity for the farm and hotel and it also provides the drinking water( which was delicious). After a lengthy shower I quickly fell asleep, glad to be back in this amazing country and getting to see so much more of it this time.
