After the settlement we walked for a while around the city seeing the sights before leaving for second stop of the day, GrundarFjordur and the famed Kirkjufell. The weather was pleasant and Borgarnes seems like a great place to live or stay.

We were spied on by this Feline, code-named Iceland-cat1. He quickly escaped upon being discovered so there was no chance to pet him or interrogate him in anyway. |
Our next stop was supposed to be the town of Grundarfjordur but while going over one the many passes we saw lots of cars pulled over at a wayside so we followed like lemmings and were treated to some amazing views and a surprise cool waterfall, we have no idea what its called as there were no signs for it and i forgot to gps tag it.
pretty awesome for an un-named place alongside the road, but that's how it is here. We continued onwards to Grundarfjordur a small fishing town with the attraction of having Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellfoss just outside the town. Kirkjufell means Church Mountain so Kirkjufellfoss means Church mountain waterfalls. You may recognize the mountain from Game of Thrones season 6 and season 7.

And finally if you're tricky and lucky and have a good tripod you can get both the upper falls and the mountain in the same pic!
So after seeing these great sights plus many more headed into town and a had delicious dinner, of red pepper soup, salad and pizza. then we set course for the small town of Arnastapi where our lodgings were for the night.....
