Our first night will be spent in place called The Garage (www.facebook.com/thegarageapartments) we won't be able to check in until 4 pm so we will be seeing the local sights and hopefully taking some good pictures to show everyone. We tried to not to plan every minute of this trip, but instead we set a daily goal which is usually our lodging and the rest is just sort of seeing the things that are in the area. I like travelling that way as it's a lot less stressful, we know we are going to get to see the major things like certain waterfalls and historical sites, but it leaves us plenty of time to discover things not in the books or more importantly places and things that locals may recommend we see. so that's about it for now, the next post will more than likely be from Iceland or perhaps on the plane on the way. If you have any questions/comments please feel free to send to to us and we'll try to answer or address them as quickly as we can.

Preparations and our first day's goal.
Well here we are with just a day or so to go, tying up last minute things and getting ready. Today was great because the airline we are flying on (Icleandair) has a cool promotion to fill business and first class seats by letting the economy fliers bid on them starting 10 days before the flight. We won business upgrades for a lot less than it would have cost to buy them normally, so we get a lot more room and some free food and drinks and such. Back to the plan now as this what this post is supposed to be about.
On Wednesday afternoon we'll be boarding one of Icelandair's 757's to leave the place we call home at 340 in the afternoon for a seven and a half hour flight covering just over 3726 miles to arrive in Keflavik, Iceland at 640 am the next day. For driving in Iceland we choose to rent a Toyota Rav 4 due to the need an affordable 4 wheel drive vehicle. Icelander's drive on the right hand side so things won't be too difficult barring long Icelandic place names that we can not pronounce.
